• BUSINESS PLANS/ BUDGETS

  Start up business’s need to have detailed financial projections for a number of years, typically 3, incorporating Profit & Loss, Cash Flow’s and Balance Sheets, in order to be best prepared for the challenges ahead. This plan forms identifies the financial, operational and human resource requirements of the entity which in turn can be used to secure funding for the entity.
  
  Successful, established businesses know the value of revising budgets every year on a 3 year rolling basis. We utilise Sage Winforecast Professional for our modelling needs.

• BOOKKEEPING

  Many smaller businesses do not require a full time bookkeeper, as it is too costly for their needs, or indeed is not required on a full time basis. We evaluate the client’s requirements and provide a part-time bookkeeping service as required. This can either be carried out on the client’s premises or in our offices. This service includes the production of aged debtor and creditor reports, reconciliation of the control account’s and in most cases preparation of the VAT returns.

• PAYROLL

  In this environment of onerous legislation, we prepare computerised payroll providing payslips and facilitate direct electronic payment to employee’s bank accounts on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. We secure new employees PPS numbers, tax credits, prepare P.45’s when required and complete all year end returns such as P.35 and P.60’s. Our rates for this service are particularly competitive.

• PART-TIME/INTERIM FINANCIAL CONTROLLER/FINANCE DIRECTOR

  Many small to medium enterprises require the experience and knowledge of a qualified accountant, but cannot afford to pay the full time salary.  We provide this service on an as you need basis, and do not require a client to commit to a set term contract.
  
  This service can also be utilised in cases of maternity or paternity leave, medium term illness, or where an employee’s contract has been terminated suddenly. We will often remain on for a number of weeks or months and assist in the recruitment and training of the new person.

• FUNDRAISING

  Most businesses require working capital for their day to day needs, but also to fund an expansion, acquisition or purchase of a premises etc. Presenting the information in a correct manner can be all important, as frequently you only get one bite of the cherry. Guardian has been involved in raising finance from a simple overdraft facility of €5,000, to private equity investment of up to €5,000,000 in the last 3 years. 
  
  Where appropriate, the Business Expansion Scheme  (BES) and Seed Capital scheme have been availed of.

• FORENSIC ACCOUNTING

  During the Celtic Tiger era, due to abnormal profits, many companies relaxed their controls, systems and procedures. Unfortunately, some unscrupulous employees, suppliers or indeed customers noticed this and began to take a share of the company’s profits without asking permission, and this is now coming to light in these times of shrinking sales, margins and cash-flow.
  
  Guardian has been involved in a number of forensic accounting investigations, to find where and how fraud occurred, and to quantify the losses to a firm. We have provided the data and evidence to assist companies eliminate them, and in some cases receive compensation for these losses.
  
  Frequently poor accounting systems and inadequate/inaccurate reporting masked the fraud, but we have painstakingly recreated entire years accounting records to prove and find where a fraud had occurred.
